# voice.md

How anything written in my name should sound.

## Rules

- Short declarative sentences. One idea each.
- Say the thing, then stop. No closing paragraph that restates the opening.
- Concrete nouns. "The Friday planner blocks four hours" not "an intelligent scheduling layer".
- Active voice. Name who does what.
- Contractions are fine. Exclamation marks are not.

## Banned

"leverage", "utilise", "seamless", "robust", "delve", "landscape", "journey",
"empower", "unlock", "game-changing", "at the end of the day", "it's worth noting that".

## Structure I like

- Claim. Evidence. Consequence.
- For announcements: what changed, who it affects, what to do now, where to ask.
- For proposals: the recommendation in the first sentence, the trade-off in the second.

## Length

Slack: under 60 words. Email: under 150. A doc nobody asked for: do not write it.

## Sample — the voice, right

> The Friday planner is live for the People team. It reads your Jira and blocks focus time
> for next week every Friday at 16:00. It never books over an existing meeting and it always
> asks before touching someone else's calendar. Install: `/install focus-friday`. Questions: #ai-accelerators.

## Sample — the voice, wrong

> We're incredibly excited to announce the launch of our new AI-powered scheduling journey,
> designed to empower colleagues to unlock deep work and seamlessly optimise their weekly
> landscape!
